Job summary

Tokamak Energy Ltd. in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to support a wide range of engineering, lab, and infrastructure activities across multiple projects, not a single production line.

You will design, install, fault-find, and commission control panels and electrical systems, read drawings, and work safely with LV systems, often with minimal supervision in dynamic environments; a practical, problem-solving mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical apprenticeship completed with hands-on experience.
• Experience working safely with LV electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Capable of testing and fault-finding on electrical systems.
• Comfortable in hands-on, practical environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, layout, installation, and commissioning of control panels and control systems.
• Assemble, install, and maintain electrical systems, panels, and associated equipment.
• Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting on control systems, power supplies, and electrical infrastructure.
• Work on mains-powered systems, including distribution boards and final circuits.
• Install and maintain cable containment systems such as tray, conduit, and trunking.
• Install and support data networks and associated cabling and equipment.
• Perform testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergency repairs.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and contractors on larger-scale projects.
• Maintain safe working areas, identify risks, and ensure materials and tools are available when needed.
