Job summary

Tarmac is seeking an Electrical Craftsperson for the Dunbar Cement Plant, near Edinburgh, operating on a 4-on/4-off shift pattern. You will be part of a 24/7 maintenance team responsible for electrical and process control systems across a large cement manufacturing site.

The role requires fault finding, safe electrical isolation practices, and experience with PLCs, DCS/SCADA, and HV/LV equipment. Expect a dynamic, inclusive workplace with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical maintenance in heavy industry.
• Ability to work day and night shift.
• Understanding of electrical isolations and permit systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical and process control equipment across plant.
• Respond to breakdowns, fault finding, and repair in a safe, timely manner.
• Work with instrumentation, PLCs, DCS/SCADA, LV/HV motors, switchgear, MCCs.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Support shutdown activities and major maintenance works.
• Operate in outdoor, dusty industrial environments.
