The Vacancy

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for leading planned and reactive sitework, safe removal, installation, and commissioning of rotational equipment. They will work across the business with a focus on safety and reliability of personnel and plant, utilizing the labour pool with a ‘One Team’ approach.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work according to company electrical safety rules, wiring regulations, best practice codes, RAMS, and all relevant documentation.
  2. Ensure work is done right first time, support others, and uphold a best-in-class approach.
  3. Coordinate site activities with site teams, support office teams, supervisors, and business units.
  4. Prepare status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; recommend actions.
  5. Perform safe isolation, installation, removal, and maintenance of rotating and other three-phase equipment.
  6. Coordinate electrical and mixed trades on site to ensure safe working and job delivery.
  7. Provide job reports and condition assessments, identifying methods for fault rectification.
  8. Identify potential future work based on current jobs.
  9. Coordinate site activities through close cooperation with the office team and electrical supervisor.
  10. Scope electrical tasks across various applications and equipment types.
  11. Troubleshoot low and medium voltage equipment effectively.
  12. Commission a range of electrical apparatus.
  13. Write technical reports and compile job documentation.
  14. Support job planning with detailed technical information on equipment, tooling, and materials.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant electrical qualification or HND, with professional and practical experience.
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to manage workload to meet priorities and deadlines.
  • Skill in writing detailed reports.
  • Understanding of financial cost control (preferred).
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater industry is advantageous.
  • Valid UK driving license.
