Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a heavy industry engineering team on a permanent basis. You will undertake preventative maintenance, inspections, fault-finding and repair of cranes and mobile plant assets to keep equipment in reliable working order.

The role involves responding to breakdowns and applying problem-solving techniques to return equipment to service within tight timescales, on a day shift from Monday to Friday with overtime opportunities and a

Qualifications

• Electromechanical components and drives used in heavy industries.
• Experience with AC/DC motors up to 400 kW and power electronics.
• Knowledge of soft start, VSDs, inverters, rectifiers, relays and contactors.
• Experience maintaining cranes and mobile plant assets.
• Experience in breakdown response and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspection and repair of cranes and mobile plant assets.
• Respond to breakdowns and faults, applying root-cause analysis to return equipment to service quickly.

Electrical Technician | Day Shift | Monday - Friday

Up to just under £45k plus overtime

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting their longstanding client with the appointment of an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join them on a permanent basis.

You will be working as part of a problem‑solving engineering team who are repsonsible for the preventative maintenance, inspection, fault‑finding and repair of cranes & mobile plant assets.

You will be required to respond to breakdowns and failures using problem solving techniques to return equipment back into service within tight timescales.

Skills Required

• Electromechanical devices such as solenoids, thrusters and actuators.
• Electric motors and drivetrains, both AC and DC up to 400kW.
• Power electronics converters such as inverters and rectifiers.
• Motor control methods soft start, direct online, variable speed drives, resistance banks and thyristors.
• Switching devices including relays, contactors, circuit breakers and proximity switches.
• 5+ years experience working within heavy industries
• HNC or time served route
• Previous maintnenace experience is essential
