Oxford Brookes University is seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated Electrical Technician to join the Estates team. The role involves undertaking planned, preventative, and responsive maintenance across residential and academic buildings within the University Estate, working on both commercial and domestic properties. Electrical Technicians are expected to play a proactive role within a motivated and innovative team, delivering key objectives aligned with directorate and university-wide requirements.

This is a full-time position, typically Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The university supports flexible working, part-time work, and job sharing. Interested applicants are encouraged to discuss flexible arrangements with us. The role includes an on-call rota with a payment of £140.62 per month (£1,687.44 annually).
The primary purpose of the Electrical Technician role is to perform planned, preventative, and reactive electrical services across the university’s estate, including maintaining service records, schedules, and PPMs.
Benefits include up to 38 days of holiday (rising to 41), a generous Local Government pension scheme (employer contribution 19.2%), cycle to work scheme, and access to university facilities such as NHS Dentist, Brookes Nursery, gym, and sports facilities. The salary starts at £36,130, rising annually to £39,355, plus a monthly on-call allowance of £140.62.
