Job summary

Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a well-established Energy company to recruit a Fleet Electrical Engineer to support across the UK fleet of Gas Power Stations. The role is hybrid, allowing remote work with site travel during outages.

The candidate will deliver electrical engineering support, perform HV/LV switching, and participate in design reviews and due diligence for major projects while maintaining the fleet asset register.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; experience can offset lack of qualification.
• IOSH health and safety qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of electrical engineering support and documentation in line with legislation and codes.
• HV and LV support for outages to overcome engineering issues.
• Assist and advise on HV/LV switching on site.
• Participate in design reviews and due diligence for major maintenance and projects.
• Coordinate repairs/outages with stakeholders within budget and on time.
• Maintain and update the fleet's electrical asset register.

Job description

Astute’s Power Team is exclusively partnered with a well-established Energy company to recruit for a Fleet Electrical Engineer to support with working across the fleet of their Gas Power Stations across the UK.

The Electrical Engineer comes with a competitive basic salary + bonus + private medical + other excellent benefits.

This role will be Hybrid where you can work from home and travel to sites when required, mainly during times of outages.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Engineer role

• Delivery of electrical engineering support and technical documentation in compliance with all applicable legislation, design codes and industry standard


• Prive HV and LV support for the fleet when it comes to planned and unplanned station outages to overcome engineering issues


• Support, perform and advise on HV and LV switching on site


• Participate in and coordinate comprehensive design reviews


• Actively participate in technical due diligence for major maintenance and planned projects


• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure repairs, outages or projects are effectively planned within budget and on time


• Maintain and update the fleet’s electrical asset register

Professional Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a HND, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering. This is not a necessity though and industry experience will outweigh a qualification


• A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous

Personal Skills And Prior Experience

• Prior experience with hands‑on maintenance experience in a heavy process engineering environment such as Power, Refinery, Paper Mill, COMAH sites, FMCG, etc.


• Experience working with both HV and LV electrical systems


• Good knowledge of relevant electrical legislation and codes


• Experience in managing subcontractors


• Good stakeholder relationship management


• Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity
