Job summary

GFSL is seeking an Electrical Supervisor for HMP Leyhill to lead electrical maintenance across a complex site. You will work with electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators to ensure safe, compliant operations that support prisoner rehabilitation and staff safety.

Candidates should have five years’ experience as an electrician, relevant qualifications (C&G2357/2367, NVQ3, 18th Edition, BS7671) and a strong health-and-safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience as an electrician or equivalent.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical, building services.
• Experience of supervising staff.
• Full driving license preferably with D1.
• C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
• Certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements For Electrical Installations
• 18th Edition
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical staff and contractors to ensure safe, compliant installation and maintenance work.
• Oversee commercial/industrial electrical and building services projects on site.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and BS7671 standards.
• Coordinate with other trades and departments to maintain reliable services.
• Manage driving and on-site logistics as required.
