Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) seeks a fully qualified Electrician to join the team at HMP Bedford on St Loyes Street, Bedford. The role is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £40,964.47 plus a 5% weekend shift allowance and £1,000 in RRA per annum.

Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services, a BS7671:2018 certificate, and relevant NVQs with AM2/AM2S, plus at least two years' experience in commercial or industrial electrical

Qualifications

  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S).
  • Two years' experience working as a fully qualified electrician.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems across a prison environment.
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe and compliant facilities.

Electrician- Level 3 only
Location: HMP Bedford- St Loyes Street, Bedford MK40
Salary: £40,964.47 - plus a 5% shift allowance for weekend working and £1000 in RRA per annum .
Contract: Full time/Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Bedford, a Category B & adult/male prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for an Electrician with a combination of:

  • certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
  • Two years' experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
