Job summary

TLG Infrastructure Limited in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead the on-site electrical team and oversee the testing programme. You will coordinate testers, manage documentation and ensure all testing activities are conducted safely and to programme.

The role is contract-based (Outside IR35) at £300 per day, with a focus on testing, inspection and close-out through handover to the project team.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising electrical testing on site.

• Strong health and safety knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractors and on-site teams.
• Relevant electrical qualifications and ECS/JIB credentials.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of an established M&E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Supervisor for a project in Ipswich.

This role will have a particular focus on the management and supervision of electrical testing, including coordinating and overseeing testers on site and ensuring testing activities are completed correctly, safely and in line with programme.

The Role

As Electrical Supervisor, you will manage the day-to-day electrical works while taking responsibility for the testing team and testing programme.

You will coordinate testers, monitor progress, manage documentation and ensure any defects or issues identified through testing are communicated and closed out efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise electrical testers on site
• Coordinate and monitor the electrical testing programme
• Ensure testing activities are completed in line with project requirements
• Review testing progress and identify outstanding works or defects
• Coordinate remedial works arising from testing
• Ensure testing documentation and certification is completed accurately
• Supervise electrical operatives and subcontractors
• Oversee containment, power, lighting and associated electrical installations
• Monitor progress against programme
• Ensure installations are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Manage QA and electrical inspection records
• Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefings
• Ensure RAMS and safe systems of work are followed
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety
• Manage snagging and close-out works
• Support the project through commissioning and final handover

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor within Building Services / M&E
• Strong experience managing and supervising electrical testing and testers
• Good understanding of electrical testing, inspection and certification
• Strong electrical installation background
• Experience managing electrical labour and subcontractors
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
• Relevant electrical qualifications
• ECS / JIB
• SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
• Testing & Inspection qualifications would be highly advantageous
