Job summary

My client, a Mechanical and Electrical contractor based in Warwick, seeks an experienced Small Works & Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join their team. You will handle reactive maintenance, testing, and installation tasks across commercial sites, reporting to the Small Works & Maintenance Manager.

The role requires a minimum of five years of qualified experience, BS7671 18th edition, an NVQ L3 in Electrical Installations, and a current ECS card.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ qualified experience in a commercial maintenance environment.
• Qualified to BS7671:18th edition and NVQ L3 in Electrical Installations.
• Must hold a current ECS card.
• C&G 2391 Test and Inspection required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and end users.
• Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• PASMA awareness.
• DBS checked or willing to be under Steane umbrella.
• Experience of working in commercial/education/leisure/public-sector environments.

Responsibilities

• Reactive fault finding, PPM, EICRs/testing, remedial works, emergency lighting and general small works.
• Testing to BS7671 – Installation Certificates.
• First fix containment and wiring, on-view and concealed works.
• Second fix distribution boards and wiring accessories.
• Installation of MICC cables, glands and terminations.
• Minor works certification.
• Installation of submains and panel boards (400A–600A).

Negotiable and dependant on experience and in line with JIB.

Working Hours

Hours of work are generally 7.30 am - 4.00 pm with 2 x 15 minutes breaks and 30 minutes lunch (unpaid), Monday to Friday. Some flexibility is required dependant on site times.

An established company with around 30 direct employees and subcontractors you will be joining an established company, working directly for the Small Works & Maintenance Manager.

• Requirement for C&G 2391 Test and Inspection
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectively with clients and end users, building relationships for future business.
• Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Outlook: Email, Excel
• Preferred working knowledge of Trade Cert
• Asbestos awareness
