Job summary

Smart Search Technical Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / Electrician stepping into a Working Electrical Site Supervisor role on a permanent site in Cambridgeshire. This is a hands-on, supervisory position with progression opportunities and close collaboration with the Project Manager.

Role involves leading electricians, managing small projects, site surveys, risk assessments and ensuring safety and quality across a busy food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Current electrical trade qualifications required.
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
• 2391 or equivalent.
• C&G / NVQ Level 3.
• Gold Electrical Card.
• IPAF.
• PASMA.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
• Industrial or food manufacturing experience is desirable.
• Good knowledge across different electrical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support teams of directly employed electricians.
• Manage small to medium-sized electrical projects and day works.
• Carry out site surveys and quote for small works.
• Organise labour and materials for projects.
• Allocate workloads and ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Attend client meetings and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Prepare job packs, risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Ensure health & safety and quality standards are maintained.
• Assist the Project Manager with projects, budgets and timescales.
• Complete snagging checks and ensure inspection and testing records are accurate.
• Provide technical support to the engineering team.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer / Electrician to step into a Working Electrical Site Supervisor position on a permanent, manned site in Cambridgeshire.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced electrician who is ready to take the next step into supervision. Initially, you'll work alongside the existing engineering team to build your knowledge of the site and processes before taking on increased responsibility for supervising engineers and supporting the Project Manager.

The role will involve a mix of hands-on electrical work, supervision, small works, reactive maintenance and project delivery within a busy food manufacturing environment.

About You

• Previous supervisory experience is desirable

• Industrial or food manufacturing experience is desirable

• Good knowledge across different electrical disciplines

Desirable:

• ATEX EX01–EX04

Most importantly, you'll need to be confident working with customers and engineers, have good communication skills and be ready to take the next step into a supervisory position.
