Job summary

Metlen Energy & Metals in the United Kingdom is seeking a driven and hands-on Electrical Site Engineer to join our growing Energy team. You will oversee LV/MV installations, review drawings, and ensure QA/QC and safety compliance on solar PV and BESS projects across the UK.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical/Power Engineering and at least 3 years of site experience in renewable energy or construction, with a proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams under

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in electrical site engineering within construction or renewable energy projects.
• Strong experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on-site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical subcontractors during LV/MV installations, including cabling, panels, switchgear, transformers and inverters.
• Ensure installations meet design specifications, with a focus on cable routing, segregation, terminations, earthing and bonding.
• Interpret and review electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), and cable schedules.
• Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance and continuity testing.
• Collaborate with civil and mechanical teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor site progress, track subcontractor performance, and address risks and delays.
• Maintain accurate quality and testing documentation, ensuring full traceability.
• Support pre-commissioning, energisation and final project handover.
• Uphold high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
