Job summary

Metlen Energy and Metals seeks a Site Engineer (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) to support our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. You will help deliver Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System projects, coordinating site activities from construction through commissioning.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 2+ years in site engineering, and a full UK driving licence. You will work with project teams, ensure HSE and quality standards, and travel to multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in site engineering within construction, infrastructure, or energy projects (associate/senior profiles preferred).
• Experience with renewable energy, Solar PV, or BESS projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction practices, drawings, and project delivery methods.
• Knowledge of HSE standards and quality assurance processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support the on-site delivery of Solar PV and BESS projects from construction through commissioning.
• Coordinate daily site engineering activities across civil, electrical, and mechanical workstreams.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Monitor site progress against programme milestones and support schedule reporting.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with design, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
• Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
• Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
• Support risk assessments, method statements, and permit processes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and UK regulations.
