Job summary

Mint Selection is seeking an Electrical Site Engineer to oversee installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems for utility-scale energy storage projects across the UK. Based in Exeter, this on-site role requires hands-on site leadership and strict adherence to design specifications, UK electrical standards and HSE requirements.

• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
• Experience delivering utility-scale electrical infrastructure projects, ideally within BESS, renewable energy, or power generation.

Responsibilities

• Support construction, testing, commissioning and energisation activities.

• Carry out site inspections, quality checks and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with project reporting, handover documentation and transition to operations.

Electrical Site Engineer

Exeter, UK (on-site)

Mint Selection have partnered with one of the UK's leading Independent Power Producers who are developing and building cutting-edge large scale Energy Storage projects across Europe.

Role

Working closely with the Electrical Engineering team, you will oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems for utility scale BESS assets across the UK, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Our client are a renewables infrastructure investor and asset owner focused on developing and managing energy storage assets, with ambitions to support decarbonisation through a diversified portfolio of energy-transition investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical installation works across utility-scale BESS projects.

• Ensure compliance with design specifications, UK electrical standards and HSE requirements.

• Support construction, testing, commissioning and energisation activities.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, OEMs, DNOs/TOs, and project teams.

• Review electrical drawings, technical documentation and inspection records.

• Carry out site inspections, quality checks and resolve technical issues.

• Assist with project reporting, handover documentation and transition to operations.
  

Key Requirements

• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering (or similar).

• Experience delivering utility-scale electrical infrastructure projects, ideally within BESS, renewable energy, or power generation.

• Good understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and UK electrical standards.

• Experience managing electrical subcontractors on live construction sites.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Useful Additional Skills

• Experience working for an EPC, principal contractor or asset owner.

• SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and HV Authorisation.
