Job summary

Port of Tilbury London Ltd is recruiting an Electrical Shift Technician to join the LCTE Engineering team at the Port of Tilbury. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on terminal equipment, diagnose faults, and provide technical support to operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role involves working at height, using approved access equipment, and adhering to permit-to-work and safety procedures to minimise downtime while keeping equipment available and

Qualifications

• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills across industrial and mobile plant.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Experience with AC drive systems, electric motors and inverter drives and PLC fault diagnostic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair container cranes, straddle carriers, and other terminal equipment across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and disruption.
• Record all maintenance activities, inspections, faults, and repairs using the designated software.
• Communicate updates to Shift Supervisors and Engineering Management on equipment condition and progress.
• Support equipment reliability and compliance through fault investigations and safety checks.
• Safely operate and inspect plant and equipment including MEWPs, cranes, FLTs, and vehicles.
