Job summary

Port of Tilbury London Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Shift Technician to join the LCTE Engineering team at the Port of Tilbury. You will maintain and repair terminal equipment, perform fault diagnosis, and support operations with technical expertise, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires working at height, following permit-to-work procedures, and providing timely updates to management. A strong shift pattern and comprehensive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills across industrial and mobile plant.
• Fault-finding and diagnostic experience with hydraulic systems.
• Experience working with diesel engine power units.
• Good understanding of preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Container Cranes, Straddle Carriers and other terminal equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise faults in a fast-paced environment.
• Record all maintenance activities, inspections, fault findings and repairs.
• Communicate effectively with Shift Supervisors and Engineering Management.
