Job summary

Brightwork, on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer, seeks a time-served Shift Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team in Johnstone, near Glasgow. The role focuses on reliability, availability and efficiency of production plant.

You will handle reactive and preventative maintenance across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, contributing to continuous improvement and reducing downtime.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with electrical bias and relevant maintenance experience.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Manufacturing/industrial maintenance background.

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and diagnose faults quickly.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Maintain and improve reliability of production machinery and site equipment.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) per schedules.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and related repairs.
• Ensure all work is safe and compliant with procedures.
• Record maintenance activities and report issues.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to sustain efficiency.
