We are representing a major global data centre owner-operator, ranked among the world’s largest by IT load and data centre footprint, as it continues to invest in its technical operations teams. We are seeking five engineering professionals to join its directly employed workforce across two locations.
These are excellent opportunities to join a dedicated data centre maintenance and operations business where technical development, operational excellence and long-term career progression are central to the proposition.
Whether you already have data centre experience or are an electrically qualified engineer looking to transition from another critical or industrial environment, there are opportunities to suit your background.
SURREY
Shift positions operate on a continental rotation covering days and nights.
The Opportunity
Data centres are at the heart of today’s digital infrastructure, supporting cloud computing, AI, financial services and global connectivity. Keeping these facilities operational requires skilled engineers who understand the importance of reliability, safety, preventative maintenance and rapid fault response.
As part of the technical operations team, you will help maintain the critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure that keeps these facilities running around the clock.
Depending on the position and your existing experience, responsibilities will include:
You will ideally understand the demands of maintaining a 24/7 facility, working within structured operational procedures and ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and reliable.
We are looking for engineers who take ownership, communicate effectively and want to continue developing their technical capability within a sophisticated engineering environment.
For the 2 x Surrey shift positions, we are keen to speak with time-served, electrically qualified engineers who can demonstrate a solid employment history, practical maintenance experience and a genuine interest in developing a career in data centres.
Your experience may come from:
You do not need to have worked in a data centre previously. What matters is your electrical knowledge, practical ability, safety awareness and willingness to learn.
You should have a recognised electrical qualification, such as a relevant City & Guilds qualification or an equivalent apprenticeship-based qualification, together with a sound understanding of electrical systems and maintenance principles.
This is an opportunity to transfer your existing skills into a specialist engineering sector with significant long‑term potential.
What We Are Looking For
Across the vacancies, beneficial experience and technical knowledge include:
Joining a directly employed technical team means becoming part of the operation, rather than simply delivering a contracted service. You will have the opportunity to build your knowledge, develop your technical expertise and progress within an industry that continues to invest heavily in its infrastructure.
The overall package includes competitive basic salaries, performance‑related bonuses and overtime opportunities, with shift allowances applicable to the shift positions. Training and professional development provide further scope to build a long‑term career.
For experienced data centre engineers, this is an opportunity to take the next step with a major operator.
For engineers from electrical, industrial, HVAC or infrastructure backgrounds, it could be the move that opens the door to a new and rewarding technical career.
