Job summary

Vertex Services is hiring an Electrical Shift Engineer in London (Farringdon). You will report to the Contract Manager and support the engineering maintenance team, ensuring building infrastructure and building services systems comply with health and safety codes.

Your duties include emergency lighting, PPM, reactive tasks, material orders, and managing 3rd party contractors. The role features a 40/4 off-days shift rota and a salary packaged at £52,000 with company benefits.

Qualifications

• Emergency lighting maintenance and testing.
• Experience with AC/DC and three-phase motors.
• Familiar with Safe System of Work practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building infrastructure and respond to maintenance needs.
• Complete PPM and reactive tasks for the shift team.
• Order materials via MRF1 and manage timely compliance tasks.
• Coordinate shift handovers and monitor critical plant status.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Contract Manager you will be working within the engineering maintenance team. You will provide all – round engineering support, maintaining the building infrastructure. You will have a detailed understanding of all new of current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and complying with the Health & Safety/Building Codes of practice.

Job Responsibilities

• Emergency lighting
• Issue relevant site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work
• Completion of PPM and reactive tasks for their respective shift team
• Identification of materials required to be ordered in a timely manner and completion of the internal Materials Request Form (MRF1)
• Maintain effective shift handovers
• including critical plant status, plant isolations, issues arising, ongoing works, special task requests, standard of housekeeping
• Timely implementation and recording of statutory inspections including accurate recording.
• Control of 3rd party contractors including monitoring of work performance and standards, including internal auditing where applicable in conjunction with the Shift Manager
• AC, DC, single phase and three phase motors
