Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking an experienced Electrical FM Manager to lead the planning, installation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure across facilities in the UK. You will manage LV/HV systems, transformers and backup power while supervising engineers, technicians and subcontractors.

The role requires 5+ years post-qualification in hard facilities management, strong leadership, commercial insight, and proficiency in IT tools including CAFM and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or trade-certified required.
• Fully qualified Electrician status required.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in hard facilities management or similar.
• Strong leadership with commercial, financial and business management experience.
• Proficient IT skills including Word and Excel; CAFM software experience.
• Valid UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, installation and upkeep of power distribution and lighting across facilities.
• Manage high/low voltage distribution, transformers, and backup power (generators, UPS).
• Oversee building management systems, energy monitoring and power quality.
• Supervise electrical engineers, site technicians and sub-contractors.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regs and testing standards.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules for critical plant.
• Respond to outages and faults to restore operations.
• Direct electrical design reviews, procurement and capital budgets.

Package

• Competitive salary of up to £52,000 per annum depending on experience
• Permanent contract of 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday

Duties

• Leading the planning, installation, and upkeep of power distribution and lighting infrastructure across facilities.
• Managing high- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, transformer sub-stations, and backup power supplies like generators and UPS networks.
• Overseeing building management systems, energy monitoring, and power quality performance to ensure optimal energy efficiency.
• Supervising electrical engineers, site technicians, and specialist sub-contractors during operational and capital works.
• Ensuring full compliance with electrical safety regulations, statutory testing standards, and safe systems of work.
• Developing planned preventative maintenance schedules for critical electrical plant and infrastructure to avoid service disruption.
• Responding to major power outages, network faults, and technical emergencies to restore operational systems quickly.
• Directing electrical design reviews, equipment procurement, and capital improvement budgets for major infrastructure updates.

Requirements

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or trade-certified, fully qualified Electrician status.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a hard facilities management or similar technical management role.
• Proven team leadership abilities combined with sound commercial, financial, and business management experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional client-facing presence and adaptable approach to operational needs.
• High proficiency in IT and administrative applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CAFM software.
• Valid, clean UK Driving Licence.
