Electrical Quality Engineer

This multi-disciplinary contractor is looking for an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to monitor the performance of Inspection and Test activities across multiple power and renewable sites, providing leadership and expertise.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead by example in ethics, EHS, cultural sensitivity, diversity, teamwork, quality culture, and behaviors.
  2. Establish close working relationships with cross-functional departments (Planning, Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, EHS, etc.), including supply chain and client stakeholders.
  3. Develop & maintain Project Quality plans and Inspection and Test plans to ensure project compliance. Continuously monitor and update the effectiveness of the quality program.
  4. Develop project quality programs and provide training for site teams.
  5. Conduct project lessons learned workshops with supply chain and project teams to prevent recurrence of issues.
  6. Implement Walkdown planning and 2-week lookaheads; measure performance of planned vs. actual activities.
  7. Complete internal audits to verify the implementation of the QMS and Quality Plan.
  8. Support and guide the implementation of the Quality & LEAN Construction Policy.
  9. Monitor KPIs such as planned vs. actual performance, checklist completion, issues/snags, room readiness, and system/area handover.
  10. Continuously monitor and improve the quality program.
  11. Implement Benchmarking programs and monitor installation progress, ensuring visibility to all project personnel.
  12. Proactively identify areas for improvement and create action plans to enhance project performance.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent Electrical trade qualification.
  • At least 5 years of Quality management experience in an Engineering & Construction environment.
  • Experience with HV/MV Substations, Transmission & Distribution is advantageous.
  • HV/MV Cable Jointing experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards applicable to the scope of work.
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • ISO9001 auditor certification and experience.
  • Ability to scope, plan, and execute risk reviews.
