Job summary

Astute is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join its Nuclear Team for projects at Hartlepool Power Station during decommissioning. The role offers a salary up to £65,000 with a benefits package and the chance to work on technically challenging projects within the nuclear sector.

Permanent and contract options are considered, with responsibilities spanning delivery of electrical projects, interfacing with teams and stakeholders, and maintaining project documentation and risk registers.

Qualifications

• Formal project management qualification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is required.
• Proven experience managing electrical engineering or electrical infrastructure projects in regulated environments.
• Experience in nuclear, energy or heavy industry desired.

Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a leading specialist engineering business delivering innovative solutions across nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management, and waste treatment. We are recruiting an Electrical Project Manager to join their team supporting projects at Hartlepool Power Station during its decommissioning phase.

The Project Manager role comes with a salary up to £65,000, benefits package, and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within the nuclear sector.

Both permanent and contract options are considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Project Manager role

Reporting to the Head of PMO you will:

• Lead the delivery of electrical engineering projects, managing scope, programme, budget, and stakeholder requirements.
• Act as the key interface between project teams, contractors, and external electrical stakeholders.
• Manage electrical infrastructure activities, including installation, commissioning, modifications, and maintenance works.
• Coordinate electrical works within live and regulated environments, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, permits, and industry standards.
• Manage interfaces with network stakeholders, ensuring project requirements, connections, and technical requirements are delivered successfully.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Produce project reports and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Formal Project Management qualification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing electrical engineering or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Experience working within regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, or heavy industry.
• Experience managing electrical systems or electrical interfaces would be highly advantageous.
• A relevant engineering, STEM, or project management qualification would be desirable.

Personal skills

The Project Manager role would suit someone who is:

• Experienced in delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Confident managing technical teams, contractors, and client relationships.
• Eligible to obtain SC level clearance or hold current SC level clearance.
