Job summary

Michael Taylor Search & Selection seeks an Electrical Project Manager for a major West London project. Salary £95,000 plus a £5,000 car allowance, full travel expenses, pension, healthcare and a bonus.

The project is a new build commercial office block, requiring strong design management, procurement, and rigorous programming. You will lead a team of engineers and liaise with clients, main contractors and consultants to deliver on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• Experience managing projects to £5M+ in commercial environments.
• Minimum 5 years in a management role.
• Experience in the commercial sector and with main contractors.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation and validate submissions.
• Coordinate design management with client, main contractor and consultants.
• Procure subcontractors, equipment and plant.
• Prepare technical submittals and RFIs with relevant stakeholders.
• Chair progress meetings with subcontractors and clients.
• Support value engineering and manage variations.
• Oversee programming using MS Project or Asta Project.
• Ensure RAMs and safety compliance are maintained.
• Oversee commissioning and client handover.

Client:

With a portfolio of projects in the UK client is recognised as a market leading building services contractor. They are renowned for large fit out and new build projects in commercial office, data centre and public sectors. Clients include major law and financial companies, as well as large blue chip main contractors. After a successful year they are now looking to increase turnover to £380M, consequently they are looking to expand their operations team.

Role:

Electrical Project Manager - West London - Salary £95,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Full Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus

The project is a major new build commercial office block in West London.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Tender review/validation
• Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
• Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
• Technical submittals
• RFIs - Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
• Value Engineering where applicable
• Programming of works - using MS Project or Asta project
• Health & Safety management (RAMs)
• Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Surveyor.
• Management of variations
• Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
• Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
• Overseeing commissioning stages
• Formulation of O&M Manuals and client handover

The ideal candidate:

• Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment
• Experience working in the commercial sector
• Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5M within your own discipline
• A minimum 5 years' experience in a management role
• Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as 0Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace.
• The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
