Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support major projects in the Anglian Water region. You will deliver electrical packages, govern technical standards, and manage MEICA procurement through to handover, coordinating across MEICA, mechanical, electrical and civil teams.

You will bring an engineering qualification and hands-on experience with electrical installation, testing and commissioning, NEC contracts, and ATEX awareness.

Qualifications

• Electrical works delivery experience in infrastructure, utilities or water sectors.
• Degree or equivalent qualification (BEng/HNC/HND).
• Experience in electrical package management and site supervision.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontract management.
• Familiarity with WIMES and water industry specifications.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
• CSCS card holder. Knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR and instrumentation systems (desirable).
• Excellent communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of electrical and MEICA packages from procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical and civil activities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead the selection, procurement and management of electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review electrical designs, specifications, URS/FDS documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Drive value engineering, cost control and standardisation of electrical solutions.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, defect management and repair activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support planning, programme management and progress reporting.
• Conduct and witness FATs, SATs and commissioning activities where required.
• Review subcontractor RAMS and ITPs, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with client procedures, industry standards and ATEX requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Support commissioning activities, client training and project handover.
