Job summary

Skilled Careers is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for a major commercial construction project in Central London near Liverpool Street Station. This is a 3-month freelance contract with an immediate start.

You will manage day-to-day electrical works, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, review drawings, and ensure on-time delivery while complying with BS 7671, CDM and safety requirements.

The role offers a competitive day rate of £350-£400, DOE.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering commercial building projects (office/mixed-use/high-rise).
• Knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency lighting, containment and BMS.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day electrical works on site.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
• Review electrical drawings, submissions, and design changes.
• Monitor programme, progress, and quality of installation.
• Manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, CDM Regulations, and all health & safety requirements.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major commercial construction project in the heart of the City of London, close to Liverpool Street Station, on a 3-month freelance contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day electrical works on site.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
• Review electrical drawings, technical submissions, and design changes.
• Monitor programme, progress, and quality of installation.
• Manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, CDM Regulations, and all health & safety requirements.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering commercial building projects, ideally on large-scale office, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.
• Strong knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency lighting, containment, and BMS systems.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple workstreams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services preferred).
