Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the Wessex Water Framework on projects ranging from £3m to £8m across the Bournemouth region. You will be reporting to a Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting all technical and commercial aspects of Electrical and Mechanical installations onsite. Candidates ideally will be qualified in Electrical Engineering but should have a good appreciation of mechanical engineering.

Scope of Work:

  • Implement new and upgrade existing assets to reduce nutrient levels, including Phosphorus, in treated wastewater before it is released into waterways.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Installations: Work on new Dosing Skids, storage tanks with level instrumentation, MCERT flowmeters, pumps, actuated valves, penstocks, and access platforms.
  • Upgrades and Exchanges: Upgrade existing lighting and exchange old pumps, valves, flow meters, and instrumentation.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Attend internal and external design review and progress meetings
  • Review specifications and outline designs
  • Procurement of Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and support for subcontract procurement
  • Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards
  • Record and Review as-built information
  • Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements

Qualifications/Competency:

  • Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical
  • Water Engineering background preferred
  • Good working Knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Procedures
  • Microsoft Office and CAD packages
  • Good appreciation of Excel to a ‘Higher’ level
