Job summary

SRG in Aberdeen area is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer/Designer to join a project team supporting wastewater treatment facilities across the Aberdeen area. You will design, deliver, install and commission electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems for water projects.

You will produce design packages, manage documentation, coordinate MCC installations, and monitor programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience as Electrical Designer or Project Engineer within an engineering project environment.
• Strong knowledge of MCC design, installation and commissioning.
• Understanding of DSEAR, HAZOP, CDM, WIMES and relevant British and European Standards.
• Expert user of AutoCAD 2D for technical drawings.
• Strong planning and project coordination skills.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities.
• Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review contractor design packages for electrical and control systems projects.
• Develop and manage electrical design documentation.
• Create electrical load schedules and single-line diagrams.
• Prepare MCC specifications and data sheets.
• Prepare WIMES data sheets and control philosophy documents.
• Develop electrical installation designs and equipment layouts.
• Support MCC installation, commissioning activities and associated planning.
• Manage design risks throughout the project lifecycle per CDM 2015.
• Create and monitor project programmes using Microsoft Project with critical paths and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and water sector specifications.
