Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting-edge water sector projects. The role supports UK infrastructure with flexible, hybrid working (3 days on-site per week) and a focus on delivering technical design work and mentorship.

Responsibilities include leading Electrical design deliverables, coordinating teams, and collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is preferred.
• Experience coordinating or managing an Electrical engineering design delivery team in a design consultancy.
• Knowledge of water industry design codes and standards (e.g., WIMES).
• Experience in electrical design within multi-disciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Lead and produce technical deliverables such as SLDs, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specs, Control Philosophies, and Network Architecture.
• Provide technical input into Electrical design deliverables and manage time and budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities.
• Mentor less experienced team members and grow electrical capabilities.
• Work independently with minimal technical guidance and provide guidance to juniors.

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Client. You’ll be part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting edge, iconic projects to our Water market clients.

As a key member of our team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on landmark engineering projects both domestically and internationally. We’re committed to providing industry-leading solutions throughout the project lifecycle, adding value through client-side and construction-phase support.

We offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per week being office/site based.

Your Role

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate or manage a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following relevant client and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels.
• Responsible for leading and producing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
• Provide technical input into project design deliverables for Electrical aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
• Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within your immediate team.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues and help to grow the Electrical & ICA capabilities within the local team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network.
• Work independently with minimal technical guidance. Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriate and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Provide technical support for bid proposals.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design including check and review of own work as well as others.

About You

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Preferably a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
• Proven experience in coordinating or managing an Electrical engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy including within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
• Requires strong knowledge and practical experience in Electrical designs.
• Practical knowledge of water company design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, such as WIMES.
• Good awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices.
• Proficiency in designing within appropriate digital analysis packages, following local and national guidance. E.g. electrical design software such as Trimble/Amtech
• Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
• Experience in water market is preferred but not required.
• Experience in industrial and process environment is essential.
