Job summary

Thames Water is expanding its Power Resilience capability to strengthen how power is planned, maintained and enhanced across its operations. The Resilience Project Engineer will assess LV sites, develop resilience solutions and support delivery to reduce vulnerabilities and improve safety and reliability.

Base location is flexible for London or Thames Valley, with a 36-hour work week and a focus on data-led approaches, compliance and continuous improvement across Thames Water sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical role.
• Experience in delivering, designing and estimating LV engineering projects.
• Experience applying Health & Safety Regulations and principles to electrical projects.
• The ability to work independently while also building positive relationships and using initiative to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Resilience Assessments: lead LV site and system Power Resilience assessments, producing surveys, updated drawings and data packs that identify vulnerabilities, critical paths and opportunities for improvement.
• Solution Development: lead the development of Power Resilience solutions, contributing to design options, calculations and scopes, while working closely with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Resilience Delivery: collaborate with internal delivery teams to help ensure planned power investments are delivered effectively and in line with resilience standards.
• Continuous Improvement: use technical problem-solving and analytical thinking to support improvements in resilience, safety and compliance, while encouraging the sharing and adoption of best practice across the team.
• Technical Documentation and Records: maintain accurate and up-to-date technical records, including tests, inspections, drawings and outage/black start plans for assigned sites.
