Job summary

Mech Electrics Limited is recruiting for an experienced Project Estimator to join their Critical Infrastructure team, focusing on data centres and complex electrical systems. The role involves developing competitive tenders that align with design, commercial, and delivery strategies across electrical and full MEP packages.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical/MEP Building Services estimation.
• Experience with data centres, comms rooms or critical environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and communicate with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for Electrical and wider MEP project packages.
• Review drawings, specifications and client tender information.
• Undertake detailed take-offs and build project estimates.
• Issue enquiries to suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
• Analyse subcontractor returns and ensure compliance with tender requirements.
• Attend site visits and engage with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify commercial and technical risks and opportunities.
• Work with Design teams to develop value-engineered solutions.
• Consider programme, construction methodology and long-lead equipment during estimating.
• Compile tender documentation through to final internal review and submission.
