Job summary

Streamline Search has partnered with a well-established structural steel contractor in the UK to recruit an Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) for their busy workshop team. The role focuses on fault finding, preventive maintenance and fabrication to support safe operation of machinery and plant equipment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, handling maintenance plans, safety checks and process improvements in a full-time workshop setting.

Qualifications

• Recognised trade apprenticeship or relevant Engineering qualification and experience.
• Experience in Engineering or Maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Fault find and repair breakdowns on machinery and plant equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and lubrication.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection logs.
• Conduct safety checks and risk assessments; implement safety measures.
• Collaborate with the team to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Communicate maintenance plans and updates to stakeholders.
• Fabricate and fit parts for repairs and maintenance as required.
