Job summary

WINSEARCH is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Birmingham for a hands-on temporary role in a busy Engineering department. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and support maintenance planning to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment commissioning, PLC fault diagnosis, and supervising shift technicians and apprentices. The role requires an Advanced Apprenticeship or higher in electrical/mechanical fields and

Qualifications

Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent in electrical/mechanical engineering.
Experience reading electrical schematics and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
Experience with PLC-controlled machinery
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing maintenance support within the Engineering department and identify issues.
Complete repairs/modifications under supervision and monitor effectiveness.
Diagnose faults on PLC-controlled machinery and repair electrical faults.
Carry out electrical inspections, testing and routine maintenance.
Complete planned preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
Assist with commissioning of new machinery and automation equipment.
Supervise shift technicians and apprentices, providing guidance.
