Job summary

Optimum TA Ltd is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Northampton (NN4) with a City & Guilds electrical qualification. A hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment awaits, with a salary around £55,000 and weekly rotating shifts 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00.

You will carry out planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and support PLC fault-finding with no programming needed, while helping improve reliability and production output. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

City & Guilds Electrical qualification, Level 3 or equivalent.
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance, or equivalent.
18th Edition desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned electrical maintenance and routine inspections across site machinery.
Respond to breakdowns, diagnosing electrical faults and restoring equipment safely.
Fault-find on electrical systems including motors, drives, sensors, control panels, switches and isolations.
Support PLC fault-finding and I/O checks, with no programming required.
Work with inverters, relays, contactors and industrial electrical systems.
Complete maintenance records accurately.
Contribute to site safety and compliance standards.
