Job summary

Newsquest Ltd invites applications for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Print Centre Engineering team in Weymouth. The role focuses on fault-finding, repair and preventive maintenance to maximise plant availability and safe operation within a busy production environment.

You will support installation, commissioning and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of health and safety and working closely with production staff and contractors.

Qualifications

• Fault-finding and problem-solving skills demonstrated in a maintenance role.
• Experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems experience.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance principles.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical docs.
• StrongHealth & Safety awareness and safe working practices.
• Reliable, accountable and works under pressure.
• Willingness to broaden technical skills across disciplines.
• Physically capable for a busy production environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical faults on plant equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• Maintain high levels of equipment reliability and performance.
• Interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation for repairs.
• Calibrate, reset and maintain press equipment and systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives on site.
• Keep engineering areas, workshops and stores clean and safe.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work.
• Collaborate with production teams, contractors and colleagues.
