Job summary

Newsquest in Weymouth is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Print Centre Engineering team. The role involves fault-finding, repair and maintenance across production and ancillary equipment, with a focus on maximising plant availability through proactive maintenance and efficient breakdown response.

Working on a shift basis, you will ensure safe, efficient and reliable print operations by supporting electrical and mechanical maintenance, interpreting drawings, and contributing

Qualifications

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to support electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.
• Solid understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety practices.
• Reliable and able to perform under pressure.
• Willingness to develop technical knowledge across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults across plant equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities to maximise reliability.
• Support installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• Maintain equipment reliability and performance levels.
• Use electrical drawings and technical docs to support faults and repairs.
• Calibrate, reset and maintain press equipment and systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
