Job summary

Bosch Rexroth in Birmingham is seeking a plant maintenance engineer to provide ongoing maintenance within the Plant Engineering department. You will diagnose PLC faults, assist with commissioning, and supervise shift Technicians and apprentices.

The role emphasizes electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic expertise, reading schematics, and a background in manufacturing. On-site responsibilities include preventive maintenance and project support.

Qualifications

• Advanced apprenticeship or higher in mechanical/electrical discipline.
• IET BS7671 17th edition is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing maintenance within Plant Engineering, identify issues and repair with direction from engineers.
• Diagnose faults on PLC-controlled machinery.
• Assist with commissioning new machinery and automation equipment.
• Supervise shift Technicians and apprentices.
• Perform electrical inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Support implementation of procedures to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop staff to company standards.
• Provide technical advice in troubleshooting and project work.
• Assist Apprentices with guidance and learning.
