Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an Electrical Engineer at HMP Northumberland to maintain the prison’s essential infrastructure, ensuring safety and operational efficiency in a challenging environment.

You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, and compliance, documenting work and supporting other trades. A UK driving licence and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
• Relevant electrical qualification (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent).
• IET/IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Inspect, test, fault-find, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
• Complete all work to relevant trade standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Identify and report defective or unsafe equipment.
• Support other FM trades and escort specialist contractors when required.
• Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs.
• Comply with all Health & Safety, security, and company procedures.
