Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Derby to maintain and optimise high-speed production lines. You will lead breakdown repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and drive continuous improvement across electrical/control systems.

The role requires electrical qualifications (craft level preferred) with PLC experience in Siemems S5/S7, knowledge of AC/DC drives, and CMMS competency. A 3-shift pattern and competitive salary are offered.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer with experience on high-speed manufacturing or packaging lines.
• Electrically qualified to craft level; ONC/HND advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical/control systems.
• Experience programming fault-finding PLCs, Siemens S5/S7.
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives and industrial installations.
• COMPEX qualification or hazardous area experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise high-speed production and packaging equipment to maximise uptime and efficiency.
• Lead breakdown response, diagnosing faults and delivering first-time repairs.
• Plan and complete preventative maintenance in line with operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Record maintenance activities and equipment history in CMMS.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance reliability and performance.
• Support equipment upgrades and installation projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and hygiene standards.
• Participate in audits and assist with budget objectives.
