Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical systems within our client portfolio. You will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, delivering a high-standard service.

Hours are 42.5 per week (Mon–Fri) with overtime after 47.5 hours. We provide a company van, mobile phone, tablet and uniform to support you in the role.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of M&E building services.
• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installations qualification.
• Inspection & Testing qualification (2391-52).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret and analyse electrical systems.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Methodical approach to record keeping and reporting.
• Practical, hands-on attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to our clients, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and in line with contractual requirements.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to reactive maintenance and equipment breakdowns.
• Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently, arranging equipment replacements where required to minimise downtime.
• Complete quality inspections and ensure all work meets recognised industry standards and best practices.
• Effectively manage and maintain records through our Elogbooks facilities management system.
• Work closely with the Lead Engineer and Support Desk Supervisor to coordinate maintenance schedules, priorities, and reporting requirements.
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota as required.
• Undertake a variety of hands-on and physically demanding tasks across client sites.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety legislation, and relevant industry regulations.
• Take ownership of your professional development by participating in training and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and qualifications.
• Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues, representing the business professionally at all times.
• Support the wider team by undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role when required.
