Job summary

Omega is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support a large, highly automated heavy manufacturing operation on a temporary 12-hour day shift at Teesside. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, hydraulic systems, motors and PLC-controlled equipment.

Key responsibilities include fault diagnosis, plant improvement projects, and ensuring safety standards are met in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or electrical apprenticeship equivalent.
• Experience fault-finding on motors, drives and automation systems.
• Experience with PLC fault-finding is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across manufacturing plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and automated machinery.
• Support conveyors, hydraulic systems and material handling equipment.
• Minimise downtime through fault finding and repair.
• Assist with plant improvement and reliability projects.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.
