Job summary

Omega is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work on a 12-hour day shift at a large, highly automated heavy manufacturing operation in Teesside. This temporary contract offers ongoing maintenance duties across PLC-controlled equipment, conveyors and automated handling systems, with a six-day schedule including 60 hours per week.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or electrical apprenticeship required.
• Experience in manufacturing/heavy engineering environments.
• Proven fault-finding on motors, drives, sensors and automation systems.
• PLC fault-finding experience preferred in an automated plant.
• Safe working in a busy production environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across manufacturing plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and automated machinery.
• Support conveyors, hydraulic systems and material handling equipment.
• Minimise downtime through fault finding and repair.
• Assist with plant improvement and reliability projects.
• Support shut-down and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
