Job summary

BGIS in City of London is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a prestigious commercial site. You will carry out PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding across electrical and building services.

The role requires NVQ3 or equivalent, 17th/18th Edition, and strong fault-finding skills. You'll monitor critical systems, support HVAC and UPS, and ensure safety permits; you will also supervise subcontractors and maintain records.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities management or building services.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer-focused approach.
• Experience in critical environments advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical and associated building services plant.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Monitor and maintain critical building systems.
• Support HVAC, UPS, generators, LV systems and other M&E equipment.
• Update maintenance records and CAFM systems accurately.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors when required.
• Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
