Job summary

Randstad NV is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias for our Peterborough facility. You will take ownership of preventative and reactive maintenance on automated equipment, diagnose faults, and perform minor mechanical tasks to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role requires experience in manufacturing environments, a rotating 3-shift pattern (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am), and relevant electrical qualifications.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• HNC/HND in Electrical or Electromechanical engineering is highly preferred.
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment across all shifts.
• Diagnose, fault-find, and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and control cabinets.
• Carry out basic mechanical repairs to support electrical tasks.
• Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to maximise uptime.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and LOTO procedures.
