Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a high-speed manufacturing site in Wigan, Lancashire. The role focuses on fault-finding, planned and reactive maintenance, and supporting installations to maximise uptime and performance.

You will work with sensors, drives, motors, and control panels, reading engineering drawings, and applying root-cause analysis. Suitable candidates will have an electrical background in industry, apprentice training or Level 3, and

Qualifications

• Electrical experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• PPMs, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills (electrical bias).
• Apprentice trained / Level 3 engineering qualification (or equivalent).
• Ability to read engineering drawings; PLC exposure beneficial.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Wigan, Lancashire
Salary: £48,296 (OTE £58,000+)

Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a strong electrical bias maintenance engineer to join a high-speed, fast-paced manufacturing site with some seriously impressive kit. This is a role for an engineer who enjoys fault-finding, autonomy, and continuous improvement in a production environment where engineering really makes the difference.

You’ll be working on high-speed equipment producing customer-specific products, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnostics, and supporting installations/projects—ensuring maximum uptime and performance.

Core responsibilities include:

• Electrical fault-finding and breakdown response in a high-speed area
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance
• Root cause analysis and improvement mindset
• Project work / installations where required

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical (or strong maintenance) experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with PPMs, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory

Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

• Strong electrical fault-finding skills (electrical bias — will consider up to 100% electrical)
• Apprentice trained / Level 3 engineering qualification (or equivalent)
• Comfortable fault-finding on typical industrial electrical systems such as:
  • Sensors, inverters/drives, motors, control panels
  • Single & three phase (415V), AC/DC
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • PLC exposure (Siemens) beneficial for fault-find support
