Job summary

Advanced Engineering, a family-run food manufacturing business operating across Grassington and Keighley, seeks a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias. You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose faults on production equipment and support site projects.

Ideal candidates are apprentice-trained, NVQ Level 3, with 17th/18th Edition wiring regs, PLC programming experience, and 5+ years in FMCG manufacturing. A UK driving licence is required for two-site work.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Experience in PLC fault-finding, repair and programming
• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working with automated electro‑mechanical systems
• Minimum 5 years' manufacturing experience, ideally within FMCG
• Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across plant, machinery and site services
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on production equipment to minimise downtime
• Maintaining, repairing and improving plant, machinery and associated services
• Installing and commissioning new equipment as required
• Supporting engineering and continuous improvement projects across two sites
• Carrying out electrical fault-finding, repairs and maintenance on automated equipment
• Diagnosing and resolving faults within PLC-controlled systems
• Working on automated electro‑mechanical systems to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably
• Ensuring all maintenance activities meet food safety and health and safety standards
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to support efficient manufacturing operations

Job description

Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a successful, family‑run food manufacturing business based across Grassington and Keighley? You will be electrically biased and have experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Offering £21.26 per hour (£48,640 per annum), working a 48‑hour week over 4 days, with 24 days annual leave and additional company benefits.

Hours of work:

48 hours per week over 4 days, working a rotating 3-week pattern;

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
• Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
• Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer your role will involve:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across plant, machinery and site services

• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working with automated electro‑mechanical systems
• Minimum 5 years' manufacturing experience, ideally within FMCG
• Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous
• Full UK driving licence and own transport due to working across two sites
