Job summary

MTrec Limited is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a permanent role in Horsham. You will be part of an in-house team responsible for keeping the plant running through preventive maintenance, fault finding, and PLC programming.

The role offers day shifts 6am-6pm on a 4-on/4-off pattern. You will work with Siemens PLCs and a range of electro-mechanical equipment in a safety-focused, lean environment to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Electrically biased engineer with manufacturing/factory experience.
• Minimum level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and best practice.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and adapt to daily priorities.
• Fitness for physically demanding tasks and hands-on roles.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with PLCs and electrical motors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
• Install and maintain electrical and electro-mechanical plant equipment.
• Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system and attend breakdowns.
• Program Siemens PLCs and diagnose faults; use testing equipment to locate issues.
• Promote Lean thinking and contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW).

Our client are specialists in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis.

The shift pattern is day shift continentals, 6am-6pm, working 4 on 4 off.

The Job you’ll do

• As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be part of a hands-on in-house team who keep the plant running by ensuring the equipment runs smoothly.

• From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.

• It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.

• Engineers have a varied role, so you’ll get the chance to use a variety of electrical skills associated with being an electrician and service engineer.

• Install and maintaining all electrical & electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery.

• Operating a preventative electrical maintenance system.

• Faulting finding and repairs.

• Program Siemens & other programmable logic controllers (PLC’s).

• Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults.

• Promote Lean thinking.

• Attend breakdowns.

• Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation.

About You

• You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience of working in a manufacturing / factory environment, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.

• Safety is our biggest priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.

• You’ll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.

• As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you’ll be fit enough to perform your various duties.

• Good communication (written and verbal).

• Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes.

• Analytical & problem-solving skills.

• Diagnostics experience of electrical motors and pneumatics.

• Experience and knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers).

Desirable

• 17th / 18th edition qualified (although training could be provided)

• Completed a hands-on apprentice training programme

• HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)

• Heavy industry experience.
