Job summary

MTrec Ltd is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a permanent role in Horsham, UK. You will be part of an in-house team keeping the plant running, performing planned maintenance and quick fault fixes, with a day shift 6am-6pm and 4-on 4-off.

The role covers electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, Siemens PLCs programming, fault finding, and Lean improvements. You will work hands-on in a busy factory, prioritising safety and reliability, with opportunities for overtime and career

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electro-mechanical plant equipment.
• Program Siemens PLCs and other PLCs.
• Use testing equipment to locate faults.
• Attend breakdowns and contribute to lean improvements.
• Contribute to safe systems of work documentation.
• Support plant reliability and efficiency.

Our client are specialists in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis.

The shift pattern is day shift continentals, 6am-6pm, working 4 on 4 off.

The Job you'll do

• As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be part of a hands-on in-house team who keep the plant running by ensuring the equipment runs smoothly.
• From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
• It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.
• Engineers have a varied role, so you'll get the chance to use a variety of electrical skills associated with being an electrician and service engineer.
• Install and maintaining all electrical & electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery.
• Operating a preventative electrical maintenance system.
• Faulting finding and repairs.
• Program Siemens & other programmable logic controllers (PLC's).
• Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults.
• Promote Lean thinking.
• Attend breakdowns.
• Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation.

About You

• You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience of working in a manufacturing / factory environment, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
• Safety is our biggest priority, so you'll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.
• You'll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.
• As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you'll be fit enough to perform your various duties.
• Good communication (written and verbal).
• Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes.
• Analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Diagnostics experience of electrical motors and pneumatics.
• Experience and knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers).

Desirable

• 17th / 18th edition qualified (although training could be provided)
• Completed a hands-on apprentice training programme
• HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
• Heavy industry experience.
