Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Heathrow Airport
Build your career in a high-profile aviation environment. We are recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our client's facilities maintenance team at Heathrow Airport, supporting first-class, specialist facilities where safety, reliability and compliance are essential.
Salary: £48,000 per annum, plus on-call payments and excellent overtime rates at 1.5x and 2x, giving you genuine potential to increase your earnings. You will also receive a comprehensive company benefits package.
Company vehicle: A company van and fuel card are provided.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm
Location: Primarily based at Heathrow Airport, with occasional travel to other airports across London and the South East.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Technical Lead, you will play a key role in keeping these unique, high-quality facilities safe, reliable and fully compliant. This is a varied, hands‑on position where your technical expertise will directly support the smooth day-to-day operation of critical and non‑critical building systems.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance, repairs and equipment operations in line with best practice.
- Ensure third‑party contractors work safely, professionally and in accordance with all company and site‑specific procedures.
- Review risk assessments and method statements before work begins.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Follow all relevant safety regulations, company policies and operational procedures.
- Help ensure the facilities remain compliant and operational at all times.
Requirements
- A well‑rounded maintenance background, with strong electrical skills and knowledge of air‑conditioning systems and filter cleaning.
- A City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation Diploma, or equivalent, as a minimum.
- Health and safety training, including a sound understanding of risk assessments and method statements.
- Experience in a similar maintenance role, including fault diagnosis and rectification.
- Practical experience of the electrical elements of general building planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- A good understanding of critical and non‑critical building systems.
- Familiarity with a CAFM planned maintenance system, ideally Concept, using a handheld PDA.
