Job summary

Connect Plus Services (CPS) seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support M25 tunnels and surrounding infrastructure. You will maintain high-voltage systems, tunnel plant, and traffic safety tech, ensuring safe, reliable operation for millions of road users.

The role is hands-on across electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and incident response, with emphasis on practical problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Completed Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, pumps, fans, VSDs, and lighting.
  • Supporting operations on 11kV HV systems (training/authorisation provided if needed).
  • Working on traffic safety systems – signals, barriers, and sensors around the Dartford Crossing.
  • Diagnosing faults using schematics and fixing issues independently.
  • Responding to incidents and helping restore safe conditions quickly.
  • Carrying out a mix of electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Working safely at all times in line with strict health & safety standards.

About the role

You’ll be part of a team responsible for keeping essential infrastructure running safely and efficiently, responding to faults, carrying out planned maintenance, and solving real-world engineering challenges that have an immediate impact on millions of road users.
