Job summary

Platform Housing Group is seeking a Lead Engineer – Electrical to lead electrical services across Derbyshire, including Matlock and Chesterfield areas. You will deliver repairs, testing and maintenance in homes, while coaching apprentices and colleagues to uphold high standards.

The role combines hands-on electrical work with leadership, quality assurance and trade development. A valid UK driving licence and DBS check are required for this mobile position.

Qualifications

• Electrical apprenticeship completed or NVQ Level 3 with City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Commissioning and Certification.
• City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent for Inspection and Testing.
• AM2 qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Additional trade qualifications.
• Unvented Hot Water qualification advantageous.
• JIB Approved Electrician card desirable.
• Full UK driving licence; DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, testing, inspection and maintenance in homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection to completion with excellent customer service.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues.
• Assess and sign off colleagues against multi-skill framework and support EPA.
• Promote consistent trade standards and best practice.
• Support trade training and upskilling initiatives.
• Conduct trade audits and quality assessments for compliance.
• Act as technical expert and escalation point.
• Monitor industry developments and regulations to drive improvement.
